Mrs. Busisiwe Maria Legodi is an entrepreneur with an interest in business investments in property, farming, event equipment hires, and deco. She has a master’s degree in Chemistry and several years of professional and leadership experience. She is passionate about motivating, mentoring, and leading talented professionals. Mrs. Legodi joined the Pretoria Portland Cement (PPC) Company Limited in 1995 where she put in over 23 years of meritorious service working at the various levels within the cement industry up to the CEO position. Recently she worked at PIOTRANS Ltd, a Bus Operating Company contracted by Rea Vaya, the City of Johannesburg Municipality as the Chief Executive Officer.
Her leadership capabilities are evidenced in the various committees and organisations where she served. She was one of the founding members of the PPC Ltd Women’s Forum, as well as a member of the International Women’s Forum. She is an appointed member of Totally Concrete East Africa advisory board member and a founding member of the Woman in Manufacturing (WIMA). Her professionalism and leadership won her several recognitions. The Standard Bank Top Women Awards finalists for 2014 and 2015, a platform for recognising outstanding leadership, vision, and innovation for shaping women’s roles within the private and public sectors. 2014 PPC Best Women Leadership Award. The 2013 Women in Concrete Excellence Award in 2013 and the 2016 Top East Africa Regional CEO Award Finalist.
Her entrepreneurial expertise led to the development of a farming project; Bright Future Agricultural, that won a finalist of 2014 National Productivity Awards and the 2017 Township Entrepreneur Awards under the category of Agriculture. Through cross-functional, interactive, and motivational leadership, Mrs. Legodi is engaged with the Tailoring Project at the Western Region of Rwanda, which has over 100 members, and the Women Environmental Soil Stabilization Project with an application of Turf Blocks. Mrs. Legodi is a much-desired conference speaker and has presented at various motivational and business platforms including the CEMTECH, CNBC, Totally Concrete, and The Worldfolio. Mrs. Legodi is married with children and grandchildren.
